Specialists in embedded Linux, open source and cybersecurity

Codiax specialises in embedded Linux, open source, real-time and cyber security. We help development companies to build, maintain and further develop Linux-based systems for products with high demands on stability, security and long life.

We offer both consulting services, courses and ready-made packages in embedded software development, embedded systems development and long-term embedded Linux solutions. For many of our customers, it is about getting the right foundation in place: a robust Linux system, a sustainable development environment and support throughout the product life cycle. We also help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity and vulnerability management efforts, including CVE monitoring, analysis, remediation, reporting and work with SBOM. This can be an important support for organisations that need to meet relevant cybersecurity requirements, such as CRA and RED.

Consultancy services and training for Linux-based systems

Our expertise ranges from BSP development, build environments and real-time customisations to troubleshooting, licence management, long-term maintenance and security work in open source-based systems.

We support customers in everything from early development phases to finished product and further management. This may involve embedded software, customisation of Linux distributions, work in the Yocto project or help to gain better control of security risks and dependencies in the system.

Vulnerability management and CVE monitoring

An important part of our work is also vulnerability management and CVE monitoring. We help our customers create a structure for monitoring vulnerabilities, managing third-party components and documentation such as SBOM and software bill of materials.

Codiax carries out projects both on site and at our premises in Kista. We want to be easy to work with, fast when needed and long-term in our customer relationships. That's why we are hired both for emergency operations and for longer collaborations with ongoing maintenance and specialist support.

Our customers include both large international Linux players and Swedish companies in areas such as Medtech, automotive systems and advanced electronics. Whether you are looking for an experienced Linux consultant, a Linux consultant for a specific project or a team that can support you in embedded Linux and security requirements, we can help!

Meet some of our staff

Anders Törnqvist

Founder and CEO

Anders is CEO and co-founder but still works very hands-on in our customer projects. With a background as owner and CEO of the Linux consultancy QiValue, which later became part of Enea, Anders is one of those who has been in the industry the longest. Despite this, Anders holds on to his vanilla Emacs (Ctrl-k, Ctrl-y), but he does it well! Linux Mint.

Erland Hedman

Linux consultant

Erland is Codiax's nestor and an experienced developer of the Linux kernel and drivers. He takes care of many of our security analyses and likes to develop in C. Half the year he lives on his sailboat, which is equipped with a largely self-developed navigation system based on Raspberry Pi. Linux Mint/WSL.

Esa Sorsa

Linux consultant

Esa has been Codiax's outpost on the Östgöta plain for a few years. He mainly takes care of low-level problems with U-Boot and the Linux kernel, but also contributes to various Yocto sets. He is an old Atari hacker who does not hesitate to build his own hardware. He develops in Vim on Linux Mint.

Johan meck Eklund

Linux consultant

Johan was the sound engineer who moonlighted as a Linux specialist, but nowadays it's quite the opposite. With a very large technical breadth, Johan is the consultant who takes care of all possible tricky assignments and always solves them a little faster than expected. Favourite language is Haskell(!), editor Neovim and distro is NixOS.

Jonas Hofmann

Linux consultant

Jonas is a Linux and Amiga enthusiast who has built Yocto-based Linux distros for automotive, Medtech and heat pumps. He prefers to program Python in his well-optimised Neovim environment. Jonas has been with Codiax since 2019 and is the one we go to when we want a hardware overhaul or need to solder something small. Debian.

Markus Svedenheim

Student

Despite his young age (born in 2004), Markus is a developer who has mastered most things. He left his elite skiing career early on to instead sit in his boys' room in front of the computer. Good for us. During a recent study break, Markus took our CI environment to new heights and restructured the first version of Atlas to what it is today. Arch Linux.

Mats Bilock

Linux consultant

Mats is becoming one of our most experienced Yocto consultants, working diligently on upgrades to newer versions of Yocto for clients. With a background as a network technician, he knows most things when it comes to communication. As a father of two little ones, Mats has also become a bit of an office organiser. Linux Mint.

Ola Redell

Founder and COO

Ola founded Codiax with Anders in 2015 and has since then built Linux for Medtech, cameras, home automation, industrial robots, heat pumps and more. Nowadays, Ola spends most of his time on customer relations and internal projects. When he's not working (in Doom Emacs), he enjoys cycling and family life. Linux Mint.

Ramón Nordin Rodriguez

Linux and Cybersecurity Consultant

Ramón is the latest addition to Codiax. After talking about it on and off for years, we finally have the opportunity to work together. Ramón will be our spearhead in cyber security but has a lot to contribute in most areas, not least Yocto and general application development. Another Neovimer. Arch Linux.

Stanislav Simic

Linux consultant

Stanislav has been with Codiax for a long time and has extensive experience in both automotive and Medtech. He specialises in hardware related programming, board bringup with various RTOS alongside Linux, and application development in C/C++. Stanislav is very well educated and often has great facts to share, almost regardless of the topic. Ubuntu.
