Dating back to 1912, Svenska Aktiebolaget Logg (SAL) was one of the first companies in the world to produce a mechanical speed log for ships. Today, SAL Navigation produces some of the market's most accurate and affordable speed logs, echo sounders, and voyage data recorders for large vessels. The core of SAL's offering may be their advanced transducers for measuring speed through water and speed over ground, but the information needs to be collected, processed and presented and then stored away. This is done with head units and displays where Codiax has helped build the Linux-based platform. Support for in-field-upgrades has as usual been a central feature, and in this case also a build system that supports several different variants of similar hardware.
